With the recommendation of the VFW State Legislative Committee, the Commander of New Jersey’s oldest and largest combat veterans’ organization, Jack Shiverdaker, announced the selection of Congressman John H. Adler (D, 3rd) to receive it’s 2010 “Outstanding Federal Legislator of the Year Award” which will be presented at the Departments annual convention June 19th in Wildwood.

OK, so technically Thursday was "Take Your Daughters to Work Day" on Capitol Hill.

But since Congressman John Adler is the father of four boys - none of whom he said is particularly interested in his job in Washington - the freshman representative opted to host two young cancer survivors from Burlington County instead.

EVESHAM - The Vietnam War claimed the lives of 58,148 Americans. Another 304,000 were wounded in the conflict.

More than 2 1/2 million U.S. service personnel took part in a war that ended only with the collapse of South Vietnam in 1975. American troops were withdrawn in 1973.
Of the thousands of Americans who served in that unpopular war, many received medals for their valor.

Robert Aguero, a Delran resident, was one of them.
